Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Quameshia. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are navigating the impact of trauma, emotional overwhelm, behavioral challenges, and difficulties within family relationships.

Much of my work centers around understanding how past and present experiences—especially trauma—shape the way individuals think, feel, and respond. Many of the children and families I work with are dealing with behaviors that are often misunderstood, such as defiance, shutdown, anger, or emotional dysregulation. Rather than viewing these as problems to fix, I approach them as signals of underlying stress, unmet needs, or unresolved experiences.

My background includes intensive, community-based work with families, where I’ve supported clients in their homes, schools, and daily environments. This has shaped my approach to be practical, relational, and grounded in real-life application. I understand that healing does not happen in isolation—it happens within the context of relationships, environments, and systems.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy focuses on the connection between the nervous system and behavior. I help clients and families better understand how their bodies respond to stress, how patterns develop, and how to begin creating new, healthier ways of coping and relating. This often includes building emotional regulation skills, strengthening communication, and creating safer, more supportive family dynamics.

In our work together, you can expect a space that is nonjudgmental, honest, and supportive. I am direct when needed, but always with care and intention. I work at a pace that feels manageable while still helping you move toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we will focus on understanding your story—what has brought you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you would like to see change. We will begin identifying patterns, discussing goals, and creating a clear direction for our work together.

My goal is to help you not only understand your experiences, but to feel more regulated, more connected, and more equipped to move forward in a way that feels different.
