Great to meet you!

If painful experiences from your past are affecting your relationships, creating patterns of reactivity, communication breakdowns, or difficulty trusting, you’re not alone. I work primarily with couples who want to understand these patterns, rebuild trust, and create healthier ways of connecting—even when they’re uncertain whether their relationship can be healed.

I also work with individuals, families, veterans, and military families who want to better understand themselves, feel more grounded, and move forward with greater confidence. My areas of focus include trauma and PTSD, relationship conflict, communication, boundaries, trust, emotional distress, self-confidence, and self-compassion.

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California (License #19185), a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), a Certified Trauma Instructor (CTI), and EMDR-trained. My professional background and trauma-focused training inform the way I help clients recognize how past experiences can shape present emotions, beliefs, and relationships.

I believe that understanding is an important part of healing, and sometimes that understanding begins with ourselves. You don’t have to have everything figured out before we begin. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, make sense of your experiences, and discover new possibilities for how you relate to yourself and others.

As a Christian, I can also integrate faith into therapy for clients who desire spiritual support. I welcome people from all faith traditions, as well as those who prefer secular counseling. Your values, beliefs, and preferences will always be respected.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct, collaborative, curious, and grounded. I bring thoughtfulness, creativity, and flexibility into our work, meeting you where you are while helping you explore the patterns and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all; I adapt the pace, depth, and structure of our sessions to your needs and goals.

With couples, I focus on understanding how past experiences and trauma responses can influence present-day interactions. Together, we explore patterns of reactivity, communication difficulties, trust, transparency, and boundaries. Rather than simply focusing on what happens during conflict, we work to understand what is happening underneath it and develop healthier ways to respond, communicate, and reconnect.

With individuals and families, I help clients build self-awareness, strengthen boundaries, develop emotional steadiness, and cultivate self-compassion. I want you to feel empowered to challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, recognize your choices, and create relationships that better reflect who you want to be.

I often think of our history as a library that has been turned upside down. The books are still there, but we may keep tripping over them until we find a way to put them back in order. Therapy gives us the opportunity to understand those experiences, decide what still matters, and make room for a different way forward.

Love is the foundation of how I show up in therapy. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and respected while also feeling supported in doing meaningful, sometimes challenging work. My hope is that you leave therapy feeling more aligned, confident, calm, and less reactive—with a deeper appreciation for all parts of yourself.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin understanding what brings you to therapy, what has been weighing on you, and what you hope will change. You do not need to have the perfect words or a clear plan. We can begin wherever you are.

I’ll invite you to share your experiences, concerns, and goals at a pace that feels manageable. We’ll explore the patterns you’ve been noticing, how they affect your relationships or daily life, and what you would like to understand or approach differently. If you’re coming as a couple, we’ll begin looking at the dynamics between you and what each of you hopes to gain from our work together.

I want our first session to feel collaborative rather than overwhelming. You can expect thoughtful questions, curiosity, honesty, and room to be yourself. We’ll begin identifying what matters most to you and discuss how therapy might support your goals. We can also explore whether a trauma-informed approach, EMDR-informed work, or faith integration feels appropriate for your needs.

Most importantly, you don’t have to know how everything will unfold before we start. We’ll work together to make sense of what you’ve been carrying, identify a meaningful direction, and begin building the understanding and tools that can help you move forward.
