Great to meet you!

Maryam is a deeply committed healer, teacher, and lifelong seeker, devoted to the integration of mind, body, and spirit in the pursuit of true well-being. With seven college degrees spanning the fields of massage therapy, nursing, and mental health, she brings a uniquely holistic and multidimensional approach to her work.

My approach to therapy

Recognizing a profound need for a deeper, integrative model of care, Maryam founded Pura Vida Psychiatry, not simply as a practice but as a movement toward reconnection—with one's higher self, intuition, and innate healing capabilities. She has developed a unique, root-cause approach to psychiatry and therapy, integrating functional medicine, bi-directional healing, and holistic interventions that honor both the physiological and spiritual aspects of health. While medication may be considered depending on the situation, it is not a primary treatment intervention of this practice. If you are in need of med management only, please seek an alternate practice.

What you can expect from me

The aim of treatment is to restore harmony to the patient's life so they may achieve an overall state of vitality and wellbeing. While we specialize in mind-body therapy, we work together with the client to set goals and develop a treatment plan that will work towards achieving those goals. Depending on the wants and needs of the client, treatment may include Lab panels, Supplementation, Herbal support, Mind-body therapy, Wellness coaching, Psychotherapy, and spiritual counseling.
