Rachael Cooke

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Telluride, CO and work with clients statewide via teletherapy. I have experience treating a broad range of areas and am passionate about supporting individuals on their healing journeys. Childhood experiences, interpersonal relationships and life challenges can all impact how we navigate our lives. I help individuals develop the awareness, coping skills, and self-compassion they need to heal and thrive in their lives today.

My areas of speciality include personal growth and change, family/systems dynamics, trauma, eating disorders, addictions, codependency, depression, anxiety, grief, stress, life transitions and purpose, wellness coaching, and self-compassion. I draw from holistic, client-centered, positive and strengths based approaches, utilizing techniques from family/systems dynamics, attachment theory, mindfulness, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused, and psychoeducational modalities.

Our first session will address what brings you to therapy and beginning to form therapeutic goals. It is very important to me that my clients feel safe throughout the entire therapeutic process together, and we will begin establishing this a safe and trusting relationship. My therapeutic work is client centered, working in collaboration with clients to make and reach goals. I believe that healing is a deeply personalized journey that occurs in many ways.
