Great to meet you!

Welcome! I am honored you have come across my profile. I am a licensed professional counselor and know how hard it is to reach out for help and begin to do the real work. I graduated with a double masters from JMU's clinical mental health counseling program. I have been in the field for 11+ years and have experience working with community mental health, residential services, outpatient services, and private practice. I became licensed in 2020 and have been in private practice since. I have received specialized training in trauma and abuse, intimate partner violence, and survivors of sexual assault.

My approach to therapy

I heavily operate from a trauma informed lens to look at your history and its impact on your current functioning and real life responses. I integrate attachment work to further understand relationships with yourself and others. I also implement aspects from a cognitive behavioral perspective where we explore how your thoughts affect your emotions.

I specialize in diagnoses stemming from trauma such as generalized anxiety, panic disorder, major depressive disorder, PTSD, and personality disorders.

What you can expect from me

Within the first session, my goal is to create a space of safety and warmth. I want you to feel respected and heard. I will sit with you through the hard stuff and never abandon you in moments of pain. Therapy is hard and I hope to increase self-awareness and healing in the relationship with yourself and others. I will help you learn how to understand your patterns so you can begin to implement real and lasting change.
