Great to meet you!

Sometimes the effects of difficult experiences can show up in ways that are hard to understand or explain. You may feel on edge, disconnected, overwhelmed by your emotions, or find that past experiences are still influencing your relationships and the way you see yourself today. I work with adults, adolescents, and children experiencing trauma, with additional experience supporting anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and relationship issues. These concerns can often overlap, particularly when painful experiences affect your sense of safety, mood, or ability to connect with others. Therapy can give you a space to slow down, make sense of what you have been carrying, and begin to understand yourself with greater compassion. Together, we can work toward feeling safer, more grounded, and more confident in your ability to navigate what comes next.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both what you have experienced and the ways those experiences may continue to shape how you think, feel, relate, and respond today. We’ll explore how trauma, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and relationship issues may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and your connections with yourself and others. I may use EMDR to help you process traumatic events. I also leverage Trauma-Focused CBT to help you process difficult experiences while developing skills to manage the emotions connected to them, Transpersonal Therapy to explore deeper aspects of your experience and sense of self, and Strengths-Based approaches to recognize the resilience and resources you already carry. Solution Focused Couples Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy can help identify practical steps toward healthier relationships and meaningful change, while Motivational Interviewing can give you space to explore change without pressure. Positive Psychology can help us build on strengths and sources of meaning, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can help you navigate difficult emotions while staying connected to your values. Our sessions will be collaborative, compassionate, and paced with your needs in mind, creating space to process what has happened while also building toward where you want to go.

What you can expect from me

You do not have to know exactly where to begin or have everything figured out before coming to therapy. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you in, how your experiences have affected you, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will create goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it feels most helpful to begin. You can expect me to listen with warmth and compassion while creating a space where you can talk openly about difficult experiences without feeling judged or rushed. Progress may look like feeling safer in your own life, having greater understanding of your emotions and reactions, managing anxiety or changes in mood more effectively, strengthening your relationships, or processing trauma so that the past has less influence over your present. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve. When you are ready, you can schedule your first session with me through Headway.
