Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Rachel Airth, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, and my approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and integrative. I work with teens, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, relationships, identity, and life transitions, with the goal of helping you better understand yourself and create meaningful change. I’m EMDR trained and draw from attachment-based therapy, CBT, DBT, IFS, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and Depth Psychology, tailoring our work to your individual needs. After more than two decades in design and business, I became a therapist and bring a deep appreciation for creativity, identity, transition, and the process of creating a life that feels authentic and meaningful. Most importantly, I strive to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and safe to be curious about your story as we explore what healing and growth can look like for you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and integrative, with an emphasis on creating a space where you feel seen, understood, and safe to be fully yourself. I believe therapy is less about “fixing” what’s wrong with you and more about becoming curious about the patterns, experiences, relationships, and beliefs that have shaped who you are and how you move through the world. Together, we’ll explore what may be keeping you stuck while also identifying your strengths, values, and the parts of yourself you want to reconnect with or grow. I draw from attachment-based approaches, EMDR, CBT, DBT, IFS, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and Depth Psychology, tailoring our work to your needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you develop greater self-understanding, more choice, and a deeper sense of connection to the life you want to create.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity to slow down, get to know each other, and begin understanding what brings you to therapy and what you hope might change. I’ll ask questions about what you’re experiencing, what feels most important right now, and the experiences or patterns that may be shaping what you’re going through. We’ll begin identifying your goals together, while also taking time to understand your strengths, values, and the parts of your life that are already working well. I want the first session to feel collaborative rather than like an interrogation, and there is no expectation that you have everything figured out or know exactly what you need from therapy. Most importantly, my hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and with a sense that we have a direction for the work ahead.
