Great to meet you!

Rachel Begovic has a Ph.D. and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Board-Certified Clinical Sexologist with almost 2 decades of professional experience assisting clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She’s helped hundreds of clients throughout South Florida who have difficulty coping with various challenges. Dr. Begovic is an expert in treating mood disorders including bipolar and anxiety disorders, addictions and recovery, PTSD and trauma, sexual dysfunctions and sexuality issues. Additionally, her extensive knowledge includes working with LGBTQ, foster and adoptive individuals and families. Her training enables her to use this evidence-based technique to work through PTSD and past Trauma (including sexual, physical and emotional abuse). Dr. Begovic has expertise working with those in the helping field who constantly see traumatic events and suffer from compassion fatigue. She’s helped her clients improve their communication skills, gain anger management strategies, learn soothing stress management techniques and enhance their self-esteem.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and deeply client-centered. I draw from evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interview, Strength-Based, and sex therapy techniques, but I tailor each session to the unique needs and lived experiences of the individual in front of me. I believe healing happens in a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard.

Whether someone is navigating mood disorders, trauma, sexuality concerns, or compassion fatigue, I work collaboratively to help them build resilience, reclaim their voice, and reconnect with their sense of self. I also bring a strong emphasis on psychoeducation, emotional regulation, and communication skills—tools that empower clients long after therapy ends.

I specialize in working with those who’ve experienced complex trauma, including professionals in caregiving roles, and I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and foster/adoptive families. My goal is always to help clients move from surviving to thriving.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling more grounded, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Whether we’re working through trauma, exploring identity, or strengthening relationships, I help clients build insight, emotional resilience, and self-compassion.

Each session is a space for growth—where we unpack patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop strategies for healing and change. My goal is for clients to walk away not just with greater understanding, but with actionable skills: improved communication, stress regulation techniques, healthier boundaries, and a renewed sense of self-worth.

I also work to ensure that clients feel truly seen and supported. Therapy with me is collaborative, affirming, and tailored to each person’s unique journey.
