Great to meet you!

From a young age, I knew I wanted to help folks and make a difference. After getting my bachelors in psychology, getting my masters in social work seemed like a no brainer. As a black, single mom, 1 of 12 children, and late to life queer person, I know first hand how impactful judgement free support is and aim to provide that for anybody I work with. I work with folks who have experienced various levels of trauma, anxiety, and depression and enjoy using a client-centered, relational approach to make my clients feel like the therapeutic space is a safe space for them.

My approach to therapy

My style is a little eclectic. Gone are the days of keeping a blank face during sessions (I could never do that anyways), and here are the days of using the tools that my clients already have to help them to continue to navigate this thing we call life. I am trained in EMDR and aim to help folks process generational trauma, systemic trauma, and other difficulties to give them a better quality of life. I’m like the spiritual auntie that will give it to you straight, but gentle and with kindness because I want you to be able to identify what’s best for you when you work with me.

What you can expect from me

I aim to create an environment that is open and allows for folks to be themselves. I practice unmasking and allowing all parts of my clients authentic selves to have space. Meaning sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, sometimes we yell, and all are welcome here. I truly believe everybody I see is doing the best they can with the tools they have. My goal is to provide my clients with more tools to manage life, while also focusing on what my client desires to work on and typically includes improving my clients overall quality of life through management of distressing feelings and empowering clients to realize how much power they truly have over their future.
