My name is Rachel Darsch, I am an a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). I have a bachelors degree in psychology from Suffolk University and a masters in social work from Simmons College. I specialize in working with young children aged 3-16 years old.
I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach to help kids connect their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. My sessions are educational in nature and children learn coping skills that they can use in real life situations. Sessions are fun and filled with videos, books and play!
In our first session together, I leave it up to the child if they prefer to have their caregiver present. We then spend lots of time getting to know each other, this is an important rapport building time. Children also learn the basics of CBT through music, video, books, and play!
