Great to meet you!

If you are the person everyone leans on, it can be hard to admit when you are tired, grieving, anxious, or carrying more than you know what to do with. I work mostly with adults navigating grief, trauma, relationship stress, family dynamics, substance use concerns, and the quiet weight of being “the strong one.”

I’ve spent more than 20 years in community mental health, sitting with people through crisis, loss, pain, and major life transitions. No matter what you bring with you, we will navigate it together and there is nothing too much or too big for our work together. Therapy with me is steady, honest, and unhurried. There is no expectation of you coming into therapy outside of the desire to change and receive help. You just have to show up as you are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, grounding, and collaborative. I promote slowing down, making sense of what you are carrying, and fostering hope in building a way forward.

I draw from Holistic perspective, strengths-based therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, CBT, motivational interviewing, Christian faith-based therapeutic interventions, and Gottman-informed work. My approach is always tailored to meet your needs. Above all, therapy with me is a place where you can be completely yourself and take an honest look at your life experiences in confidence and free of judgement. Engaging with me does not require wearing one of your many hats that are worn in all other aspects of your life. You can be tired, anger or experiencing any other emotional state. You do not have to be strong or care for anyone outside of yourself for the one hour we have together.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you and having a glimpse of what you are currently carrying. We will talk through what has brought you here, what feels heavy, and what you are hoping to be different. You do not need to have any answers coming into a session, we will figure things out together. The pace of our work together is determined by what feels manageable to you. We will focus on helping you feel safe, understood, and supported. By the end of the first session, you should have a sense of what working together could look like and feel a little less alone with what you have been carrying.
