Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of helping many different people manage symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety related to changing life circumstances. Recently, my work has been with people experiencing grief and loss, older adults and their caregivers, and young adults making career and life decisions. I believe that the greatest challenge we face as humans is to adjust to our environment as it constantly changes. It is natural to look for an outside perspective when all around you seems uncertain. I'd love to use my experience and expertise to help you grow through the challenges you are facing.

My approach to therapy

Making changes to the way that you think and respond to change is a process that takes time and support. Using types of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, my goal is to understand your situation as you see it - the factors that hold you back and the strengths you bring to the challenges you face. Once we know that, together we can look at how your thinking affects your emotions which govern your reactions. This process often looks like you sharing stories and responding to questions I have along the way. Together we can explore new ways of thinking about your challenges that lead to growth.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, the goal is to get to know you and hear how you understand the challenges that you face. You are the expert on your life, the people in it, and the dynamics involved in finding a solution. Don't be surprised if I both ask a lot of questions and spend time a lot of time listening during our early time together.
