Great to meet you!

Rachel understands the strength and courage it takes to ask for help- that’s why she is here for you. She specializes in working with both adolescents and adults. Rachel also understands the unique challenges and struggles these age groups face. She has a passion for helping her clients navigate through issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, disordered eating patterns, substance abuse, faith-based concerns, and relationship difficulties.

Rachel attended the University of Alaska Anchorage where she received her Bachelors Degree in Biology, with a minor in psychology. Rachel is a graduate from Hodges University, where she obtained her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Rachel has experience working at an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Fort Walton Beach. While there, she provided individual and group counseling to adolescents, teens, and adults. Since working at Mayor Mental Health, Rachel has provided individual, couples, and family counseling sessions. She has experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), emotion regulation, stress, and trauma.

My approach to therapy

Rachel's therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which are evidence-based practices that have been proven to be effective in treating a wide range of mental health issues. Through CBT, she works with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors, helping them to develop healthier coping strategies and more adaptive ways of thinking. For clients with OCD, Rachel has experience with using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapy.

What you can expect from me

Rachel strives to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into their behaviors, and work towards positive change. She is dedicated to helping her clients build the skills and tools they need to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives. If you are ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, she is here to support you every step of the way.
