Great to meet you!

"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf" is a Jon Kabat-Zinn quote relevant to these challenging times. I'm a seasoned mental health counselor/school psychologist with experience supporting clients in finding creative solutions for anxiety and depression, relationship issues and family dynamics. I will provide a safe environment to help facilitate positive changes in your life. I have a specialization in life transitions, and working with people pleasers and stuck creatives.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Our work together will be client centered, strength based and solution focused. We will utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other relevant modalities to identify healthier approaches to problem solving, help you unlock your creativity and become less stressed and more available to pursue their goals. Validation and encouragement in an empathetic and supportive environment are vital components to your therapy experience. Learn more about me at https://rachelmatza.com

What you can expect from our first session

Therapy should be a positive experience for you where you feel heard and supported and gain new insights into your feelings and experiences. Whether you are experiencing a short term challenge or ongoing struggle, it takes bravery to step forward and want to make changes in your life. My approach is warm, non-judgmental and flexible as we work to establish individualized goals specific to your needs. I invite you to contact me and I look forward to talking further.
