Great to meet you!

Hi! and welcome. I am Rachel Navarro, a licensed clinical social worker practicing in California with over 15 years of experience in the social services sector. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief, intimacy-related issues, career difficulties, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, attachment issues, blended family issues, body image, caregiver issues and stress, communication problems, divorce and separation, family problems, forgiveness, pregnancy and childbirth, self-love, women's issues, and workplace challenges.

Growing up I always gravitated towards helping others... You mean I can do this as a profession? I believe my lived experience, along with my clinical and professional knowledge, is a combination that allows me to better serve my clients.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will inquire about which communication method works for you and follow your lead in the pace you need to go at in order to feel comfortable and supported through your journey in exploring feelings and needs.

My clinical approaches combine Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.

What you can expect from our first session

In our first session, we will begin the engagement phase by exploring your personal goals and needs. I like to ease the pressure of feeling as though the "problem" must be solved immediately and encourage the "process" of self-discovery and development/enhancement of coping mechanisms for managing challenges and stressors.

You are the expert of your own story and I trust that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
