Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Ray.

I'm here to guide you through the dark and painful areas of your life, mind, and body.

I graduated with my masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and was part of the Transpersonal Wilderness Therapy program. Transpersonal means "beyond the self"- the avenue I use to encourage ("with heart") in parts work, somatic play, and EMDR.

I specialize in working with clients who are empaths and highly sensitive, as well as clients navigating life transitions or feeling stuck. I'm also trained in EMDR, a well-researched trauma processing therapy. I also work in the areas of sports performance and chronic pain.

Namely, my goal with clients is to make sure they know they feel supported- that I'm on their team, and I'm not going to leave.

My approach to therapy

It's normal to both cry and laugh during a therapy session with me!

I like to use a holistic approach to my work, choosing from various modalities in partnership with my client on which is best for them at the time. We don't work as much much as we play- explore and adopt a mindset of curiosity.

Most important, I use compassion to help the my clients treat themselves with compassion and find their inner healer. While I'm open to sharing my thoughts, my main goal is for my clients to find their own wisdom, their own inner healer.

What you can expect from me

Research shows that more than anything, the client-therapist relationship (a shared connection) is the most important factor in the outcome of therapy. In my first session with a client, I want my clients to start to feel comfortable with me and know that I'm a safe person they can trust. I usually also like to offer some basic tools around nervous system regulation which is the foundation of any deeper "root" work we do together.
