Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Rae and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

I work under the belief that big emotions and big reactions are not a sign that something is “wrong” with you, but rather are healthy signals seeking respect and attention to guide you toward your true self. However, many of us have heard or come to believe that we're "too much" throughout our lives—too emotional, too challenging, too overwhelming, or too far gone to deserve the things, relationships, and lives we long for. This messaging can lead to difficulties setting boundaries, fear of independence, or choosing isolation to avoid feelings of shame and disappointment when our needs go unmet.

My approach to therapy

I aim to provide a space where you can explore your inner world and rewrite the stories you've absorbed from others or told yourself.

My approach is holistic, empowering, and interactive, using various integrated techniques like guided imagery, inner child work, and other psychodynamic and attachment-focused processes. I also am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapeutic method geared specifically towards trauma.

Together, we'll examine the spaces you've been and the spaces you long for and find a path forward to wholeness.

What you can expect from me

Something I will emphasize often is this - you are far from broken. You have innate survival skills and an inner strength that remains regardless of circumstance.

In our first sessions together we will begin unraveling the threads that have kept you afloat, but may also have been keeping you stuck. We'll also be looking at what has been working well for you and how to use those things as rafts to keep moving forward. Together, we'll discuss your goals and check in/adjust as needed as our work progresses.
