Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Rachel, a queer psychotherapist trained in clinical social work and trauma-informed care. I have a Master of Social Work degree from New York University, and I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients and welcome individuals of all identities who are navigating identity exploration, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma (including PTSD/CPTSD), and other life challenges. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, understood, and free to explore what’s going on in your life without judgment. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I aim to make the process approachable, collaborative, and supportive from the very beginning. Together, we'll work to find healing.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s goals and needs. My work is grounded in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices, recognizing that personal struggles are often shaped by both individual experiences and broader social contexts. Together, we may explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships, process meaningful experiences, and develop practical tools to support growth and resilience. I also recognize that many neurodivergent individuals benefit from creative adaptations to traditional coping strategies and therapeutic approaches, and I aim to meet each client where they are rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. We will work together to create the healing that works for you!

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you’re invited to share at your own pace. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals—whether that means developing coping tools, gaining clarity about patterns in your life, processing past experiences, discovering your identity, or building greater emotional resilience. My goal is to help create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported as we start building a therapeutic plan that feels meaningful and manageable for you.
