Great to meet you!

As a master’s-level Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor – Supervisor, I bring more than 30 years of experience in community mental health and addiction services, working with individuals, couples, and families. I also have extensive experience supporting first responders. Following the September 11 attacks, I volunteered at Ground Zero in New York City, and I currently serve as Team Leader for the Southeastern Ohio Critical Incident Stress Management Team.

My areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic violence, women’s issues, substance use, and the stressors of everyday life. I am committed to creating a supportive, respectful, and compassionate environment where clients feel understood and empowered to work toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while incorporating an eclectic range of evidence-based strategies, including EMDR, when appropriate. I believe therapy should be individualized to each client, and I tailor my approach to their unique needs, experiences, strengths, and goals.

I listen to understand, approaching each client with compassion, genuine interest, and respect. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which we work together to identify challenges, build on existing strengths, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can grow, heal, and work toward living their best life.

What you can expect from me

I genuinely enjoy meeting new clients and getting to know the person behind the concerns that brought them to therapy. During our first session, I want to learn about you—not only your current challenges, but also your background, interests, strengths, aspirations, and the experiences that have shaped who you are.

This information helps me develop individualized treatment approaches that are meaningful and appropriate for you. I am a down-to-earth therapist, and I want you to feel comfortable being yourself from the very beginning. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, respected, safe, and validated as we begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. Together, we will identify your goals and determine how therapy can best support you in moving forward.
