Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Ramona Johnson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Missouri and Illinois with over 10 years of experience helping people work through the everyday stressors that can keep them from living their best life. Whether what's weighing on you is related to work, family, conflict, anxiety, grief, or life in general, I'm here to help you figure it out. I work with teens, adults, and older adults, and I know that navigating life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and that everyone needs help at some point. My style is warm and genuine, but I also like to challenge my clients to help them reach their potential. I believe the first step is often the hardest and most important one. It would be my privilege to take that step with you and work together toward the goals that matter most to you.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe there's a single approach that fits everyone, so my first priority is always taking the time to truly understand your issues and needs. From there, we'll work on what's most important to you, drawing on best practices and a good dose of common sense. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and I also offer coping-skills work, life and health coaching, and behavioral assessments tailored to your goals. Many clients begin seeing progress toward their goals over a 6-8 week period or longer, depending on what they need. My hope is that our work together helps you build practical coping tools, gain clarity and confidence, and take back control of your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about learning more about you and the priority issues or problems you're facing right now. Together, we'll begin developing a plan to move forward at a pace that feels right for you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out. I simply want to understand what brought you in, what matters most to you, and how I can best support you as we take this first step together.

In our first sessions, we'll explore questions like: What would healing or progress look like for you? What is bothering you the most? What changes would you hope to see in your life? These conversations help guide our work together and ensure therapy is focused on what matters most to you.
