Great to meet you!

I am a Bible practicing christian who has been married 45 years, raised a family, served our country for 20 years in the military, served my local community for 20 years as a special education teacher and an administrator in alternative secondary schools.

I am a life long learner with BS in industrial technology, an MS in Information Technology, an MA in Special Education, and an MA in clinical social work.

By sharing my understanding of how life's difficulties in marriage impact your emotions and cause division, I help couples make sense of the conflict and discovering the root causes. Through this work, husbands and wives regain hope and connection in their relationship.

My approach to therapy

I integrate Biblical principles with Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) to help husbands and wives build secure, emotionally connected relationships. My approach focuses on strengthening the bond between partners by fostering trust, vulnerability, and deeper understanding. By combining faith-based guidance with evidence-based therapeutic techniques, I support couples in breaking negative cycles of conflict and moving toward healthier patterns of communication and attachment.

In addition, I draw from over 20 years of experience teaching parenting skills to help couples align in their roles as parents. I work with partners to clarify shared values, strengthen teamwork, and create consistency in discipline and decision-making. When couples feel unified in both their marriage and their parenting, the entire family system benefits.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect to feel listened to, respected, and understood. We will take time to explore your concerns, relationship history, and hopes for counseling in a structured yet supportive way. By the end of the session, we will collaborate on clear counseling goals and objectives, outline a tentative session schedule, and ensure you leave with a shared understanding of the direction we’ll take together.
