I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/ psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience helping individuals and couples cope with chronic health conditions, life stage transitions and daily stressors. I have extensive experience treating relationship and family conflicts, depression, anxiety, bereavement and conflicts associated with substance abuse.
With a postgraduate in psychotherapy from The Psychoanalytic Association of New York NYU Department of Psychiatry, and clinical experience at Mount Sinai Medical Center and The Multiple Sclerosis Society, I bring a deep understanding of both mind and body to my work. I have supported individuals and families coping with new diagnoses, chronic illness, neurological conditions and life transitions and draw on my psychoanalytic background to help clients gain insight, resilience and lasting change.
I use both psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to create a balanced and personalized experience. Psychodynamic therapy helps uncovers the emotional patterns, dynamics and past experiences that shape how you respond to stress while CBT offers practical strategies for managing thoughts and behaviors that can make challenges feel overwhelming. I provide a therapeutic space that is both reflective and supportive, where my clients can feel understood while also learning concrete tools to navigate health, relationships and daily life with greater resilience.
I understand that reaching out for help can be overwhelming. My initial goal is to help my clients feel comfortable with the therapeutic process. I guide my client with learning about their strengths and abilities and discover new alternatives and choices to behaviors that aren't helpful. I actively listen with compassion and respond with empathy, respect and without judgement. I continually assess individual treatment needs and develop goals with my clients to address identified concerns.
