Great to meet you!

I truly find joy and purpose in connecting with others. I have always had an innate curiosity about the mechanics of the human mind and behavior. I hold Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Political Science from U.C. Berkeley and achieved my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University. I have extensive experience with a range of mental health disorders and have helped hundreds of clients attain a more peaceful and purposeful mind space. My style, knowledge, and techniques not only derive from textbook learning and the clinical practice- but also from real lived experiences that have broadened my scope of the human condition.

My approach to therapy

I develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and preferences of my clients. I utilize a compassionate person-centered approach to provide authentic presence for healing and growth. I integrate practical and hands-on coping skills from scientific-backed and evidenced-based modalities including: Mindfulness Skills Training; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Our work together will reflect your goals and needs at the moment and for the future.

What you can expect from me

I provide an open, non-judgmental, and confidential space to foster growth and healing. I bring warmth, connection, humor, and a vast expanse of knowledge and techniques to help reduce suffering and enhance quality of life. Some sessions will focus on skillfully guiding you to process your thoughts and emotions with the aim of bringing unhelpful (and sometimes unconscious thinking habits) to the surface. I think of the mind as a computer, and the goal of therapy is to be more in control of the computer so that you're running it, and it's not running you unconsciously. It is said that the most powerful thing you can control is your attention. Think of attention as a flashlight in your mind and where the beam of light is shining is what you what you think about or perhaps avoid thinking about. The goal of therapy is to give you tools to be more in control of that flashlight, and hence where you are focusing your attention and energy.
