Hello, my name is Raquel Vasquez. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Master's in education at the University of Texas, Brownsville. Currently, I am working on a PhD. in Rehabilitation Counseling at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. (Same university, different name!). I have experience working with adults and adolescents. My focus is to help you have a safe and judgment free environment where you may voice your thoughts.
My counseling style is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. The sessions will be tailored to correspond to your needs. It is important that you learn how to synthesize, analyze and chart the best course for your life. I hope to help you learn the connection of how our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are important in our life choices.
My goal is to help you feel comfortable with who you are through counseling. During sessions, you will have the opportunity to explore your feelings in a supportive environment. You will feel excited and empowered as you learn new skills on communicating your thoughts, displaying confidence in your daily decisions and constructing a foundation for working through any situation.
