Great to meet you!

I'm a clinical psychologist who has worked for a decade in college mental health and trained in community mental health clinics seeing a broad array of presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, women's life issues, post-partum, issues of acculturation, and trauma. I hold a Psy.D. from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, and completed both my internship and postdoctoral residency at The Danielsen Institute at Boston University where I also trained in couples therapy and psychological assessment.

My approach to therapy

With a psychodynamic/analytic approach, I help you look beneath the surface at hidden patterns, how past experiences may impact the present, and how inner conflicts may keep you stuck, driving the present struggles. I offer a steady, compassionate presence in therapy, and believe in the power of humor/levity in the relationship between therapist and client. There is room in therapy for both an analytical mind and a feeling heart. I believe the vast array of human experiences enriches my practice but also deepens my commitment to fostering a space where you are heard.

What you can expect from me

A first session is a collaborative, open conversation focused on building safety and seeing what it feels like to think together. Instead of running through a rigid checklist, the time is used to map out your current struggles, gather a brief history of your life, and see how the past might be connecting to the present. There are no quick fixes or homework assignments on day one; it is simply a safe space to be curious about your story.
