Great to meet you!

I'm Rashmi Nayak, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Campbell, CA, offering telehealth throughout California.

My work centers on relational trauma, couples and intimacy concerns, and the ways early experiences shape how we connect, communicate, and show up in relationships. I use somatic approaches alongside talk therapy, which means we work with both the body and the mind to create lasting change.

I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a Certificate in Sex Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), trained in a body-based approach to trauma healing.

If you are an existing client transitioning to this platform, I look forward to continuing our work together here.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, somatic, and collaborative. I work at a pace that feels safe for you, not rushed toward insight before your nervous system is ready for it.

As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), I pay attention to what the body is holding alongside what the mind is processing. Trauma, relational pain, and intimacy concerns often live in the body long after we've "talked through" them. Our work together addresses both layers.

I draw from attachment theory, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), and somatic frameworks to help clients understand patterns in their relationships, build capacity for connection, and move through stuck places with more ease.

I bring cultural attunement to my work, particularly around South Asian backgrounds, family systems, and the complexity of navigating multiple cultural identities.

If you are an existing client continuing our work here, you already know how I show up. That doesn't change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form read back to you. I want to understand what brought you here now, not just what's on paper.

We'll talk about what's feeling hard, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping shifts. I'll also start getting a sense of how you hold things in your body, not in a clinical way, just paying attention to what comes up as we talk.

You won't leave with homework or a treatment plan. You'll leave with a sense of whether this feels like the right fit and what we might focus on together.

There's no pressure to have it all figured out before you walk in. Most people don't.
