Great to meet you!

My name is Rebbecca Cohen and I bring over 30 years of experience in psychiatric nursing to my practice. I began my career at the prestigious New York-Presbyterian Hospital network, where I built a strong foundation in patient-centered psychiatric care. Over the years, I have also served in senior nursing leadership roles, guiding teams and shaping high-quality mental health services.

After many years in leadership, I return to my first passion—direct patient care in psychiatry. As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I provide comprehensive care for individuals across the lifespan. My services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy, with treatment plans tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.

I hold a Master of Public Administration from New York University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Binghamton University. This combination of clinical expertise and healthcare leadership gives me a holistic perspective—integrating evidence-based care with a deep commitment to patient advocacy and wellness.

Through both telehealth and in-person appointments, I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where patients feel heard, valued, and empowered on their path to wellness.

My approach to therapy

I work with clients of all ages, providing a supportive and collaborative space to explore challenges and build on strengths. My approach is compassionate, practical, and tailored to each person’s unique needs. I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship and marriage issues, career stress, and life transitions such as menopause—but my work is not limited to these areas.

I believe in meeting people where they are and walking alongside them as they work toward healing, growth, and meaningful change. My style combines evidence-based strategies with genuine connection, helping clients gain insight, learn new skills, and feel more empowered in their daily lives.

I am proud to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and welcome all individuals into a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental environment.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and talking about what brings you in. You can share as much or as little as you’d like—I’ll listen without judgment and help you start clarifying your goals. Together, we’ll outline a plan so you leave with a sense of direction and hope. My space is relaxed, supportive, and welcoming, designed to help you feel comfortable from the very start.
