Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works primarily with adults navigating complex trauma, neurodivergence, anxiety and depression, life transitions, and the lasting effects of being parentified or growing up in emotionally complicated families.

Much of my career has been spent in public and community mental health, including crisis and stabilization work. That experience has deeply shaped the way I practice. I’m comfortable sitting with complexity, strong emotions, uncertainty, and the parts of people’s stories that don’t fit neatly into a diagnosis or treatment plan.

I especially enjoy working with people who have gotten very good at functioning while carrying a lot underneath the surface. You may understand yourself intellectually and still find that your body reacts before your mind has a chance to catch up. You may have spent years adapting, caring for others, or figuring out how to keep going—and are now ready to understand yourself differently.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct, curious, and collaborative. I’m interested in getting underneath the surface of patterns rather than simply trying to make them go away. I’ll ask questions, notice patterns, and challenge you when it feels useful. Together, we’ll get curious about where your responses came from, what they may have protected you from, and whether they’re still serving you now.

My work is trauma-informed and body-aware, drawing from somatic approaches, polyvagal theory, and other experiential frameworks. This means we may pay attention not only to what you think and feel, but also to what happens in your body and nervous system. I don’t see every difficult reaction as something that needs to be fixed. Often, our reactions make a lot more sense once we understand what our systems learned they needed to do to get us through.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to start getting to know each other without the expectation that you tell me your entire life story in an hour. I’ll want to understand what brought you to therapy, what’s happening in your life now, and what you’re hoping might feel different.

I’ll ask questions and follow what feels important, but you get to decide what you’re ready to talk about. We may start noticing patterns, relationships, or experiences that seem connected to what you’re struggling with now, while also paying attention to what feels most pressing in the present.

You don’t need to come in knowing exactly what your goals are or how to explain what’s wrong. Part of our work can be figuring that out together. Most importantly, the first session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of me and whether I feel like someone you can be yourself with and do meaningful work alongside.
