Great to meet you!

I have a PhD from Columbia University, a certificate in clinical psychology from Adelphi University, and a certificate in psychoanalysis from the WA White Institute in NYC. I have taught clinical psychology PhD students for many years, focusing on integrative techniques in psychotherapy. My background allows me to bring a thoughtful, in depth perspective to our work together. If you are curious, you can also read more about me on Wikipedia.

My approach to therapy

In our work, I use whatever techniques my client and I feel will be most helpful for their specific concerns. I draw from CBT, emotion focused therapy, and psychoanalytic ideas, while also paying close attention to any unconscious factors that may be affecting you. Together we will decide which approaches fit you best, so that therapy feels collaborative, respectful, and effective.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will invite you to describe the problems that are most concerning you right now and how they affect your life. I will also encourage you to tell me about yourself as a person, not only your symptoms, so I can understand your history, values, and relationships. My goal is to create a safe, thoughtful space where you feel listened to, taken seriously, and free to speak openly.
