Great to meet you!

I am a Christian, a wife, and a mother. My husband and I work together to provide for our family in this increasingly difficult economy. For me, being a counselor has been and will always be more about getting people the help they need than about the money. I am working towards a certification in Biblical counseling. I have a masters degree in Christian Counseling, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. During my educational years, I volunteered at a Hospice organization and pursued my internship at a private practice just prior to and during COVID. Due to the pandemic, I had to pursue another counseling job to finish my associate hours for my licensure. Once it was completed, I have continued to work at both sites, which allows me to continue working with low-income clients. Throughout my career, I have worked with a variety of issues, focusing mainly on depression, anxiety, anger, and relationship issues.

My approach to therapy

Relaxed and open. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy as my approach, believing that our behavior is linked to our thoughts which is linked to our emotions. Being a Christian, I also believe that our spiritual beliefs are very important to our mental well being. I strive to create a welcoming and safe environment for all my clients so that they may feel safe to challenge themselves.

What you can expect from me

From the first session, clients can expect to have expressed their reason or reasons for seeking therapy, being made aware of their rights as clients, and an assignment to begin their healing journey. They can expect to hear me use some mild humor and to feel welcomed as they are. It is my intent to always show every client God's love and patience during each session.
