Great to meet you!

I'm Rebecca, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a practice rooted in feminist therapy, psychodynamic work, and narrative approaches. I trained at Hunter College's Silberman School of Social Work, and I work with adults in New York and Pennsylvania via telehealth. My clients are often women, LGBTQIA+ people, new parents, and adults navigating the kind of exhaustion that comes from moving through a world that doesn't always see them clearly. I don't believe therapy happens in a vacuum — the social, cultural, and political contexts of your life are part of the work. I'm LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC affirming, and I bring an advocacy orientation to everything I do. If that resonates, I'd love to connect.

My approach to therapy

I work primarily from a psychodynamic and narrative framework — which means I'm interested in the stories you tell about yourself, where they came from, and whether they're still serving you. I bring a feminist lens to this work, which means I take seriously the ways that gender, identity, power, and culture shape psychological experience. I also draw on strength-based approaches because I believe clients come to therapy already carrying more wisdom and resilience than they've been given credit for. My role is to help you access that, not to have all the answers for you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I'll ask what's been going on, what's brought you to therapy now, and what you're hoping will be different. If you're coming with something specific (birth trauma, parenthood struggle, a relationship you're trying to understand) we'll start there. If you're not sure where to start, that's fine too! By the end of the session you'll have a sense of my approach. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you honestly and try to point you somewhere useful.
