Great to meet you!

If you are struggling to feel good about yourself or just struggling to cope with life from day to day, please reach out to me so that we may explore what is going on in your life and how I may be a source of comfort and healing. Unresolved pain, depression, anxiety and fear are indications that some part of you is needing to be seen, to be heard and to be healed.

I began my career over 27 years ago after graduating from Tulane University. I first worked with clients struggling to be free from alcohol and drugs and was later also privileged to work with clients and families facing terminal illness and grief issues. Additionally, while in private practice, I specialized in individual, couples and family therapy addressing a variety of issues. Particular focus was on relationship and communication, healing abuse, learning self-empowerment and embracing the aging process.

I then took some personal time for a long and spiritually healing commune with myself and nature. Healing comes from so many sources. I would enjoy working with you to discover and explore your own personal and individualized healing path.

Please take a deep breath and feel free to contact me for a chat on how I may personally be of help with your particular needs.

My approach to therapy

It is important that you leave the first session feeling positive about your experience and open to the possibility that I may be the right therapist for you. You should feel a sense of safety and know that you are not being judged and that your thoughts and feelings are heard and understood. We will spend time exploring your immediate needs and goals, get to know each other and then begin to develop a realistic plan for healing. As therapy progresses, you will begin to have increased insight and clarity and will work toward developing strong skills for positive, lasting change with an increased sense of empowerment and well-being.

What you can expect from me

There is nothing more powerful than love and insight laced with a good bit of laughter while learning to make positive life changes. Life is difficult. Finding humor when we are able is an important life skill for healthy living. I also draw from a long history of holistic therapeutic tools emphasizing a person centered approach while utilizing cognitive behavioral, mindfulness and psychodynamic therapies among others.
