Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Rebecca Hunter, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia. I help people move through tough times, feel more grounded, and reconnect with what matters most to them. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just not like yourself lately, you're not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out all by yourself.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy like a conversation—with curiosity, care, and a focus on what’s actually helpful to you. I don’t come in with a script or assume what you need. Instead, I listen closely and adapt along the way, blending proven tools with space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Some days, that might look like sorting through anxious thoughts or painful memories. Other days, it might mean learning how to breathe through overwhelm, set boundaries, or feel safe in your body again. I focus on creating a space where you feel supported and understood, without pressure to perform or fix everything at once.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make it feel a little easier. You can expect sessions that are down-to-earth, supportive, and focused on what matters most to you—not a checklist of what “should” happen in therapy. You’ll leave each session with something you can carry into your day—whether that’s a new tool for coping, a shift in perspective, or simply the relief of being heard and understood. Over time, we’ll work together to help you feel more connected to your strengths, more confident in your choices, and more clear about where you’re headed.
