Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Rebecca Pender Baum, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist with over 18 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. I work with clients navigating everyday stress, anxiety, unexpected life transitions, and both current and past traumatic experiences. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply seeking greater clarity and balance, therapy can be a place to slow down, feel understood, and move forward with intention.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in motivational interviewing and a strengths-based framework. I believe each person is the expert in their own story and already possesses meaningful inner resources for growth and change. My role is to help you access those strengths, clarify your goals, and build practical, sustainable strategies for the life you want to create.

What you can expect from me

Clients often describe my style as warm, collaborative, and compassionate. I strive to provide a space rooted in validation, empathy, and respect for your unique lived experience. In our first few sessions, we will focus on getting to know you — your history, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from counseling — so we can tailor our work to best support your needs.

I am deeply passionate about this work and consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients during some of their most difficult and transformative moments. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions for flexibility and accessibility.

Reaching out is a meaningful first step. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
