Great to meet you!

I have had the awesome opportunity to work as a Licensed Professional Counselor for 23 years. I have worked with teens, young adults, older adults, couples, and families. My work is like a calling. Assisting others to problem solve, commit to change, and enrich their lives has been a rewarding experience.

A bit about my approach to therapy

For me, the most basic enduring approach to counseling is client centered therapy with active listening, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. Closely related is Motivational Interviewing. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the most effective approaches that I use most often. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness therapy are great approaches for me in the counseling process.

What you can expect from our first session

I create a calm environment with the client being the focus of each session. The counseling process is a serious experience but humor adds to the warmth and caring atmosphere I try to provide.
