Great to meet you!

I have 30 years of experience treating depression, anxiety, panic, and PTSD, in adults, adolescents, and children. I have a specialty in managing chronic medical issues like diabetes, & cancer, and have advanced training in ADHD and Trauma. I did my graduate work at Boston University and have both an MSW and an MPH from BU. Ive worked in transplant at MGH, and Behavioral Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess and inpatient psychiatry, outpatient behavioral health, and group homes.

My approach to therapy

The magic in therapy is you, and helping you think about your challenges and your strengths and choosing a way to manage your emotional wellness. I use cognitive behavioral therapy with clients who can benefit from that, but also generally bring to the treatment a belief in mindfulness and holistic self-care. I can help with learning distress tolerance, or ways to manage grief, or to develop more insight that can lead to change.

What you can expect from me

I do assign homework if you feel motivated to learn some concepts on your own. Generally the more you can track some behaviors and ways of thinking, the easier it is to see patterns and make changes. I also enjoy suggesting work books to anyone who wants to have the support of a resource outside of the therapy time. I generally like for treatment goals to be a topic of discussion in the first few sessions and then we can keep those goals on our dashboard as we work together.
