Great to meet you!

I came to therapy through a winding road — law school, a marriage, a divorce, real loss, and a full career pivot. That path gives me a different vantage point than most: I understand what it feels like when the life you planned no longer fits, and I know the particular exhaustion of trying to keep it together while everything shifts underneath you.I've been doing this work for 8 years, and my clients tend to be adults who are smart, self-aware, and still stuck — not because they aren't trying, but because the strategies that got them here have stopped working. I work with individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, trauma, grief, identity questions, relationship stress, and major life transitions. I also offer therapy in German for clients who think or feel more naturally in that language.I accept Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — different people need different tools, and I'll tell you directly when something isn't working. My practice draws on EMDR for trauma processing, IFS (Internal Family Systems) for understanding the different parts of yourself that are in conflict, CBT for building practical coping skills, and EFT for couples who want to actually change the dynamic, not just talk about it.What ties these together is a belief that most of the patterns keeping people stuck are adaptive — they made sense at some point. The work is figuring out which ones still serve you and which ones are costing you more than they're worth. I'll challenge you when I think it's useful, and I'll back off when you need space. The goal is clarity, not compliance.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form read aloud. I want to understand what's actually going on — not just the presenting issue, but what brought you here now, what you've already tried, and what a good outcome looks like to you. You don't need to have it figured out before we meet.I'll share my initial read of what I'm hearing, ask questions that might feel different from what you expected, and we'll figure out together whether working with me makes sense. By the end of the first session, you should have a clearer sense of what the work might look like — and feel like you've been understood, not assessed.
