Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Bekah, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am passionate about working with clients who have experienced traumatic situations or abuse, struggle with depression and/or anxiety, and those who desire growth in emotion regulation and personal identity. I also enjoy working with veterans and law enforcement officers (past or current). My desire is to provide a safe space for clients to process, heal, and grow without experiencing guilt or shame.

My approach to therapy

My desire is to be a warm and nonjudgemental presence to whom clients feel safe to share their stories and experiences. I consider it an honor to be invited into the lives of my clients. I seek to help my clients identify and address the root causes of their symptoms, rather than focusing only on the presenting symptoms. I utilize an eclectic and holistic approach to counseling, taking the whole person of the client into consideration as we work together to mend, grow, and pursue wholeness.

What you can expect from me

I seek to provide sessions that are practical and applicable to daily life, as well as are a safe place to practice new skills. I desire participation from my clients, as motivation and willingness to practice throughout the week what was discussed in the therapy session will highly influence the outcome. I often invite my clients to practice somatic-oriented exercises and mindfulness techniques in-session, as supplements to talk therapy as it's important to engage the body as much as the mind. I am also EMDR-certified, which can be used to address trauma-related concerns.
