Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about supporting children, teens, and young adults through Equine Assisted Therapy. Before transitioning into mental health counseling, I worked as a K–12 School Counselor, which gave me the privilege of walking alongside students from many different backgrounds and life experiences. That foundation continues to shape the way I connect with and support the clients I work with today.

I am trained in Equine Assisted Therapy in conjunction with traditional training in the mental health field. Equine Assisted Therapy includes a number of beneficial equine activities such as observing, handling, grooming, groundwork, and structured challenging exercises focused on the child's or adolescent's needs and goals.

My therapeutic approach is additionally grounded in evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care. I believe that no two clients are the same, and I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in using Equine Assisted Therapy to support children and youth working through trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional regulation, and family or school-related challenges. Equine Assisted Therapy provides unique non-verbal opportunities for the client to enhance self-awareness, recognize maladaptive behaviors, identify negative feelings, and face self-defeating cognitions. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space with the horse and client, where clients can build trust, learn mindfulness and self-regulation skills, learn healthy boundaries, and foster positive identity and self-esteem.

I approach therapy with warmth, collaboration, and respect, helping clients build resilience and discover meaningful paths forward.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming space focused on building connection and trust. Together, we will explore what brings you to therapy, talk about your goals, and begin developing a positive plan that supports your desired outcomes through the unique experiential therapy with horses. I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process, and I will walk alongside you as we create a path that feels both supportive and empowering.
