Great to meet you!

Reema Cherian is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides compassionate, evidence-based care for clients across the lifespan. She is dedicated to promoting emotional wellness and improving quality of life through individualized treatment plans that integrate both medication management and holistic care. Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Reema spent several years as a Registered Nurse in intensive care, where she developed strong clinical judgment, crisis management skills, and a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental health. Her extensive ICU background allows her to approach psychiatric care with a comprehensive perspective, recognizing the interplay between medical conditions, emotional well-being, and lifestyle factors.

In addition to her clinical experience, Reema has served in supervisory and leadership roles, mentoring nurses and guiding interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This experience reinforced her conviction in the importance of collaboration, clear communication, and empowering both patients and healthcare professionals. Reema provides diagnostic evaluations and medical management for a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, and schizophrenia. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, offering a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment for all clients.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is rooted in compassion, evidence-based practice, and a strong therapeutic alliance. I believe in meeting patients where they are, taking the time to understand their unique experiences, and creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and supported. I use a holistic approach that considers the physical, emotional, and social factors that influence health, and I partner with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals. Communication, education, and collaboration are at the core of my practice, and I strive to empower each patient to take an active role in their wellness journey while ensuring they receive high-quality, culturally sensitive, and ethically sound care.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a comfortable, supportive, and judgment-free environment. My goal is to get to know you, understand your concerns, and learn what brings you in for care. We will review your medical and mental health history, discuss your current symptoms or challenges, and talk about your goals for treatment. I’ll ask questions to gain a full picture of your overall well-being, and you’ll also have the opportunity to ask me any questions about the process, medications, or treatment options. By the end of the session, we will work together to create an individualized plan that fits your needs, whether that involves therapy, medication management, lifestyle strategies, or a combination of approaches. Most importantly, you can expect compassion, respect, and a collaborative partnership from the very beginning.
