As a Licensed Professional Counselor I have worked in the field of mental health for the past 18 years. I initially started my career working in addiction. I believe that taking this step and reaching out to a therapist is one of the best things someone can do for themselves.
My approach to therapy is simple. I work with you and meet you where you are. This looks different for everyone. Together we will identify difficulties, solutions, strengths and goals.
During the first session you will have an opportunity to share your story of what brought you here on this journey. I think it is also important to discuss prior treatment experience and what was beneficial/not beneficial for you. We will also discuss your goals for therapy.
