Great to meet you!

Hello, I am a licensed (Ohio) and board certified psychologist (Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology) and have been practicing psychology for over 25 years. I have a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. I was previously a psychologist in the Air Force, and I have worked with the government as a psychologist for many years.

I have an extensive background in treating various types of mental health problems. My approach is supportive and goal-oriented. I consider one of my strengths to be helping clients work in therapy toward their idea of their best life--we will work together toward goals that are meaningful and important to you.

My approach to therapy

I work from a Cognitive Behavioral model of therapy and rely also on principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I specialize in depression, anxiety, problems with life adjustments, and general "unhappiness."

What you can expect from me

I like to spend the first session getting to know you and learn about your goals. In addition, you can ask me questions about my training, credentials, or other professional matters. In a first appointment, there are also some standard "intake" questions I will ask as well. Hopefully, by the end of the first session, you will decide if you think I am a good "fit" to be your therapist, and I will have a good idea about your goals and some of your history that has led you to seeking therapy.
