Great to meet you!

I believe that effective mental health care begins with feeling truly seen and understood. My approach is shaped by over 15 years of healthcare experience—including a decade of academic training at Ohio University and over 4 years in psychiatry—but it is also deeply informed by my own personal journey. I bring a unique perspective to my practice as someone with both the clinical expertise of an MSN and the lived experience of navigating the complexities of behavioral health.

As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I specialize in diagnostic assessments and medication management for patients of all ages. My path from an LPN to an MSN has given me a deep appreciation for the 'whole person' approach to care. Because I understand the challenges of seeking help from a personal and professional lens, I am committed to creating a space free of stigma where you can feel empowered to lead a fulfilling life

My approach to therapy

I utilize a holistic, patient-centered approach that blends clinical expertise with genuine empathy. I believe that medication is most effective when it is part of a larger wellness plan tailored to your unique life story. Whether we are navigating a new diagnosis or fine-tuning a long-term treatment, my focus is on providing evidence-based care that respects your autonomy and supports your path to a balanced life

What you can expect from me

Our first meeting is a foundational step called a Psychiatric Evaluation, typically lasting 60 minutes. This is a dedicated time for us to look beyond a simple checklist of symptoms and understand the 'whole picture' of your life.

During this session, we will:

  • Discuss Your Story: We'll explore what brought you in today, your current symptoms, and how they are impacting your daily life, work, and relationships.
  • Review Your History: I will look at your past medical and mental health experiences, including any previous medications or treatments, to see what has—and hasn't—worked for you.
  • Collaborative Goal-Setting: We will define what 'feeling better' actually looks like for you. Whether it’s sleeping through the night or feeling more like yourself again, your goals lead the way.
  • Diagnostic Clarity: I will share my initial professional thoughts and, if appropriate, provide a diagnosis or working theory to help us move forward with a clear direction.
  • Create a Personalized Plan: By the end of the hour, we will have a roadmap. This may include starting a medication, discussing lifestyle adjustments, or coordinating with your therapist.

What to bring: To make the most of our time, please have a list of any current medications (including dosages) and a brief history of past psychiatric medications you’ve tried.
