Great to meet you!

I'm a board-certified psychotherapist specializing in marriage/couple's therapy, trauma, and working with first responders. My passion is to help people live happier, more fulfilling lives. When I first became a clinician 11+ years ago, I worked in community mental health and only with children, adolescents, teens, and their families. Now, in private practice, my passion focuses on helping adults learn how to give and receive unconditional love. That takes form in a variety of ways. I work with teens as well, however since my practice is solely telehealth it is very limited; some conditions need a higher level of care.

There are some things to know about my practice, to ensure I can meet your needs regarding response time etc. Work/life balance and self-care are important for all of us. While we have the ability to reach anyone, anywhere, and at any time of day, boundaries can help us stay on track with our goals and keep us from getting overwhelmed. With that said, I try not to log into work on my days off or after a certain time in the evening. This helps me show up as my best self for you during our appointments. Additionally, I am self-employed and don't work in an office, so I don't have a receptionist who returns calls or emails for me. There can be a wait before I respond to your message. If this style can work for you, I'd love to become part of your care team and help you with your goals. Take a look at my calendar - you are seeing all of my current openings and possibilities for scheduling your appointments. If that works for you please schedule a free consultation call and we can chat in more detail about how I can help!

My approach to therapy

Starting therapy can be difficult and intimidating, but investing in yourself and your relationships is one of the most life-changing things you can do. I use a person-centered approach to support my clients while gently pushing them toward their goals. We're a team. My goal is to give you the tools and support to make the changes you want in your life.

I specialize in Couple's Therapy & diagnosing trauma and treating post-traumatic stress, including the special needs of first responders. I use evidence-based models like The Gottman Method & EMDR, and I offer ketamine-assisted therapy to help clients save their interpersonal relationships and heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that result from adverse life experiences.

What you can expect from me

I think it's vitally important to develop the skill of positivity. Research shows that practicing gratitude and positive psychology leads to feeling happier, more resiliency, and a life that is more fulfilling. In my experience I've found that trauma and unconditional love are interrelated, and so I've tailored my practice to align with the two conditions I think have the biggest impact on people.

During your first appointment you can expect to complete an intake form and billing agreement (if it wasn't done prior). I want you to feel comfortable and know that our hour together is YOUR time. First, I'll answer any questions you may have. I'll ask you questions about your therapy goals, and then I'll ask questions to help me gain an understanding of what your daily life is like. Some will be about your past and some will be about your present and why you've decided to start therapy; all to help paint the picture of who you are. You are the expert on "You"! So I want to get to know you well, in order to serve your needs best.
