Great to meet you!

My name is Rene and I’m a down-to-earth therapist who specializes in substance use and trauma, and I love helping people feel hopeful again during some of the hardest and most confusing chapters of their lives. I also support clients navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, family and relationship struggles, stress, and women’s issues. I especially enjoy working with women rebuilding identity and confidence after difficult life experiences.

People often tell me they feel comfortable with me quickly. My goal is simple: to meet you exactly where you are — whether that’s overwhelmed, stuck, healing, hopeful, or unsure — and help you find freedom, opportunity, and solid ground again. If faith or Christian counseling is meaningful to you, I’m happy to incorporate spirituality into our work together. And if not — that’s perfectly okay too. Therapy with me is about your values and your journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach depends on what you want from therapy — whether that’s practical tools, emotional support, long-term healing, or short-term stability. Some sessions may feel structured and solution-focused, while others may be a space to simply breathe, talk, and process. I’ll help you set goals at a pace that feels doable, and I’ll remind you (often) that growth is possible — even when life feels messy.

Clients often describe my style as warm, humorous, and direct. I’ll be honest with you, encourage you, and gently challenge things that no longer serve you — all while holding a safe, nonjudgmental space where you don’t have to pretend to have everything figured out.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will include a quick overview of confidentiality and how therapy works — then we’ll shift into what brought you here, what feels heavy, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we’ll identify a starting place and decide whether you’d benefit from skills between sessions, emotional support, or both. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and not alone.

A little about me

I’m a mom and a grandma — part of a beautifully chaotic blended family with 7 kids and 8 grandkids. I love traveling, laughing, and enjoying the small things in life. I’m a people person through and through — and it brings me joy to see joy return to others.

If you’re ready to feel supported, grounded, and encouraged — I’d be honored to walk with you. You’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re right on time.
