Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Renee, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology as well as a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, and I am currently pursuing my PsyD. I specialize in working with children and adolescents who may be struggling with anxiety, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, trauma, and life transitions. My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative, and I work closely with both children and their caregivers to help build coping skills, improve communication, and support emotional growth. My goal is to create a safe and encouraging space where children feel understood and families feel supported.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I focus on helping children understand their emotions, build healthy coping skills, and improve communication with the important people in their lives. I often work with concerns such as anxiety, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, and school-related stress. I believe therapy should be a safe, encouraging space where children feel comfortable expressing themselves while learning practical skills to support their growth and well-being.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, I focus on getting to know the child and their family while learning about the concerns that brought them to therapy. We will talk about the child’s experiences, strengths, and challenges so we can begin identifying goals for treatment together. I aim to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where children feel comfortable expressing themselves. By the end of the session, families can expect to have a clearer understanding of the next steps and how therapy can support their child’s growth and well-being.
