Great to meet you!

With 26 years of clinical experience as a licensed therapist in DC and Virginia, I support individuals navigating life’s complexities—from stress, trauma, and grief to fertility concerns, family dynamics, LGBTQIA+ experiences, anxiety, depression, and moments of transition.

As a proud Howard University graduate, my work is grounded in cultural humility, social justice, and a belief that mental health is inseparable from history, community, and lived experience. Howard taught me to see clients not just through symptoms, but as whole people shaped by family, identity, policy, and perseverance.

This perspective fuels my commitment to therapy as both a healing space and a form of liberation. My practice is anchored in integrity, guided by compassion, and centered on the dignity and humanity of every person I serve.

My approach to therapy

I ground my work in a client‐centered, solution‐focused approach that integrates psychoeducational and didactic techniques. Above all, I strive to create a collaborative therapeutic environment—one that is open, safe, and free of judgment—where your thoughts and emotions are honored, explored, and met with curiosity and care.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a space that feels grounded, affirming, and deeply respectful of your story. I’m not here to fix you—I’m here to understand you.

We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important right now. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to learn about your history, strengths, relationships, and the stressors you’re carrying. You set the pace, and anything that feels tender or not yet ready to explore will be honored.

You can also expect clarity. I’ll explain how I work, review confidentiality, and answer any questions you have about the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll begin shaping goals and imagining what meaningful progress could look like for you.

Most importantly, you can expect to feel seen. My practice is rooted in cultural responsiveness, trauma‐informed care, and advocacy. I hold space for the fullness of who you are—your identity, your faith or doubt, your history, and your hope.
