Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Counselor with Master's Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I have been in mental health practice since 1996. I specialize in mental health disorders, grief and loss therapy along with trauma, narcissistic abuse, children and families, couples/marriage, LGQBT, and I am a Christian based Counselor but I am very non-judgmental. My 1st and main priority is meeting each of my clients where they are and displaying a non-judgmental attitude. I view the therapeutic relationship as a 'team' effort and my role is to help you to assist you in developing a relationship with the 'person' that already exist within you. We take the journey to healing 'together'. I engage all my clients in identifying areas of importance to them and engage in problem solving. I utilize EMDR, psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma therapy, psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, person-centered therapy.

My approach to therapy

As a counselor, I am very client-focused. I start and end with the belief that every answer/solution lies within my clients. Building trust and rapport with my clients, begins the relationship. My goal is to seek to understand my clients, share my clients feelings, and to actively listen to my clients. I want mt clients to know they MATTER. Mclients and I collaborate together to set goals and create flexibility for treatment goals and interventions that fit and meet the needs of my clients.

What you can expect from me

My clients will always be in an environment where they feel safe, seen, and heard. I believe in helping my clients to 'thrive' and not just 'survive'. I desire for clients to not always look at the problems but to look at the 'possibilities'. Their personality and preferences will always be considered. I am aware as a counselor, some clients need a 'direct' approach where some may need a more 'non-direct, supportive' approach. I'm very attentive to my client's during sessions. My clients will have the opportunity to create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic goals that promote their desired outcome, with timeframes that incorporates accountability. I give recommendations on activities or skills to work on between sessions because my belief is change happens by consistently, practicing in life daily and not just in one session a week. My clients will feel empowered, resilient, and creative.
