Renisha Oubre

I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience. My clientele includes children, adolescents, adults, and couples that have various issues: ADHD, abuse, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, dual-diagnosis, PTSD, and substance abuse. In addition, I work with clients who have issues such as depression and anxiety. I work with members from the LGBTQ+ community and the BIPOC community. I have a Masters in School Counseling and have worked in schools for over 15 years.

I approach counseling from a client-centered approach in which I take a nondirective role. I will listen and try to understand things from your point of view. I will respect and protect your autonomy and self-direction. If I am unsure about anything, I will check for understanding with you, the client. Various other theories and strategies will be used based on you, the client, individual issues and needs.

I do individual, couple, and family counseling. Counseling is a collaborative process, and you, the client, are a full partner in this relationship. I expect you to be honest, open, and have a sincere desire to change in order to maximize the benefits of each session. As we work together, if you have any suggestions or concerns about counseling, I expect you to share these with me so that we can make any necessary adjustments needed.
