Great to meet you!
Before I became a therapist, I spent years on the front lines of child welfare, protective services, and crisis work in both Florida and Colorado. That meant investigating abuse cases, working in emergency shelters, supporting families through the court system, and eventually running substance abuse groups and individual therapy in a jail setting. All of that shaped how I understand trauma. I watched what happens when the wounds go unaddressed for years, and I saw just as clearly what becomes possible when someone finally gets a real chance to work through them. Private practice is where I get to do that work the way it deserves to be done.
